15 European cities you absolutely must visit
In the early years of my travel life, I remember saying many times that I preferred to save European destinations for my old age. I said that Europe seemed very unfamiliar to me and that I preferred to take advantage of my youth to discover distant and exotic destinations. Today I can tell you that I was wrong.
It was only in 2014 that I crossed the Atlantic for the first time to attend a blogging event in France on the French Riviera. Although a trip to Europe entails subsequent costs, the Canadian dollar is always very weak compared to the euro, since then, I have lost count of the times I have set foot there, sometimes even several times a year.
I love Europe with its cities that have nothing to do with the American cities I am used to, its small villages with incomparable charm, its rich and omnipresent history, its heritage of rare beauty, its diverse landscapes and its long walking and hiking trails. I also discovered a passion for the paths of Compostela.
There are a large number of countries and cities in Europe to visit , despite the fact that the territory is small in size. Even after my numerous stays, I only know a tiny part of it. This is why I asked 15 bloggers to please share with us a city, among the most beautiful cities in Europe according to them, that they particularly like. A little inspiration for our travels!

There are many beautiful cities to visit in Europe
Rome in Italy
Italy is one of the countries that offer the most city trips in Europe thanks to a rich heritage and gastronomy recognized throughout the world. Among my favorite destinations and which are among the most beautiful cities in Europe to visit, the capital Rome appears to be a must. What other city can boast almost 3,000 years of history?
Rome was the cradle of Roman civilization and many remains still bear witness to this era. In addition to the superb Colosseum where gladiator fights and even reconstructions of naval battles took place, you must visit the Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon to understand how life was organized at that time.
The Italian capital also has many palaces, churches and baroque monuments, especially around Piazza Navona. For me, it is the most beautiful square in the city. Not far away, the Trevi Fountain sees millions of tourists passing by every year who come to throw a coin there as tradition dictates.
With so much wealth and heritage, I recommend a stay of at least 3 days in Rome. This will allow you to spend a day discovering the Vatican which conceals two treasures: Saint Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.
For Quebecers, know that it is possible to reach Rome on a direct flight with Air France on its Montreal-Rome flight .

Florence in Italy
To continue with Italy, Florence, capital of Tuscany and the Renaissance, is the most beautiful city in Europe that I have visited so far.
The city of architecture, art, history. Unique, it is unlike any other city. Its history forges this city where strolling through its streets is like becoming a world heritage site. A city with certainly the best museums of Italian art, but also breathtaking cathedrals and churches.
For a weekend or several days, come and discover the Duomo, cross the Ponte Vecchio, or even visit the famous Palazzo Vecchio.
Visiting Florence also means letting yourself be carried away by the large crowds, enjoying an ice cream in a gelateria and tasting the city’s typical dish, bistecca alla fiorentina. It also means contemplating the golden age of the renaissance and also soak up this very special atmosphere.
This Italian city is, in my opinion, the most beautiful city in Europe to visit, because it is above all an open-air museum. If you have time, you can easily visit Siena as well as the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa not far away.
